With a UK and European wide tour beginning January 14th in Prague the band are readying themselves for the brand new show. Liverpool Echo Arena will host the rehearsals during January with a return to the Echo on 2nd March 2012 for their first show there for a year.
The band has rehearsed in the Echo Arena in past years but next year's tour has grown to over 30 crew, with 3 buses and 3 trucks. "We need a big space for a production of this scale." said Jason Sawford, keyboard player for over 22 years with the show.
The production is overseen by original Australian founder members Colin Wilson, Steve Mac and Jason Sawford who started the band and show 23 year ago. "It’s the attention to detail that matters the most, not only in the enormous production we take with us on the road but also in the music. We go to great lengths to make sure each song sounds a close as possible to the original recording. It’s very important." says Colin Wilson.
Next year’s tour entitled "Exposed in the Light", taken from a line in Shine on You Crazy Diamond will truly be a spectacular not to be missed by anyone. Steve Mac said "We like to think of our show like an orchestra playing classical music to a light and laser spectacular. It’s really something for the whole family to enjoy. It’s been great to see a new generation of fans coming to our shows too and it just goes to show how powerful Pink Floyd's music really is."
Tickets for the tour are available from our site but the shows are selling quickly. Visit http://www.aussiefloyd.com/tour for dates and availability.
