Re: What happened to the old guitarist?

Sitting there on a Saturday night looking for an argument......I know a drying out alcoholic who'd do just that ?
End of.

Re: What happened to the old guitarist?

Yawn. I don't want to play your game. An aggressive argumentative tone so quickly employed indicates to me that you have an interest in promoting the lapsing carrier of a bunch of session musicians who's name I couldn't be bothered to mention.

Re: What happened to the old guitarist?

Ha ha, charade you are !
I'm not fooled , how long did it take to contrive this well recognised variation of a tired
theme ?

Re: Warsaw january 21st 2012

I haven't yet seen the alternative set list but as far as i'm able to make out....and I may be wrong ?
After the interval the second set starts with Echoes rather than with Shine On parts 1-V.
You'll find out on the night though wont yousmiling

Re: News section.

As I posted on another thread relating to the Polish gig we attended a few days ago the theme of the 2011 tour was,"if Pink Floyd were still playing today what might they be doing" hence the use of 3D.
For the 2012 tour TAPFS have reverted to there more usual form of show and are using a couple of extra new lasers.
Unfortunately not in France though as it would seem that over zealous regulations mean that it's necessary for the band to purchase an expensive permit per venue for their use.

News section.

I've just been reading the latest post on this sites News Section dated January 20th.
Having just seen my first gig of the year I'm moved to comment.......not for the Aussies to make wild ultimately baseless claims about their musical capabilities.
Unlike others they just get on with it and the quality of their performance guarantees ticket sales.

Nantes

It has come to my attention the TAPFS played Echoes last night in Nantes.
Was there a forum member in the crowd at the time.......how was it ?

Steve 250 yards from her old house on Orphanage road. I was on Chester road......I'm greatly offended that she doesn't remember me....lol. Sorry for boring other forum members by the way. This conversation may well carry on somewhere else now.

Re: Warsaw january 21st 2012

Can I put in an early request ? IF TAPFS play Warsaw again on a Saturday night next year could we all please go back to the same restaurant on the Friday night as we used this year....great find. The lady running the place looked after us so well.
A shame about the massive hang overs at breakfast the following morning.
By the time the gig started in the evening all of that didn't matter.shades
Thank you to our friends for making the trip so worthwhile and thoroughly entertaining.

Re: David D F has a new CD.

Shock ! Horrorsmiling the link works.

David D F has a new CD.

David D F has recently published a new CD titled Post-Everything.
Look athttp://www.daviddomminney.com/.... For a couple of sample tracks.
While on David's website have a look at his background as a guitarist, see who he's played with. It may help you to understand why he is as good as he is and why his Gilmour sound is so exceptionally close to the original.
With a front line of Steve Mac,Colin Wilson and David D Fowler TAPFS are undoubtably the nearest we are going to get to reliving the sound of Pink Floyd in 2012.

Re: TAPF virgin

Yes a first time for everything so go with an open mind and decide for yourself whether the Aussies sound like/look like Floyd or not.
Hopefully you'll be as impressed as some of us were in Poland last weekend.

Warsaw january 21st 2012

As this yearâs tour T-shirt suggests, the âassorted lunaticsâ travelled to Warsaw for our first Aussie Floyd hit of 2012.
The trip was well worth it and the band didnât let us down. Good as they were last year, considering the fact that they were performing with a new line up having only short rehearsal time. This time a happy, more relaxed team of musicians stretched themselves a bit more expanding upon last yearâs set list (Pink Floyds Greatest Hits World Tour 2011). The train of thought behind last yearâs tour being âwhat would Floyd be playing now if they were still playing?â Hence the 3D experiment.
This yearâs title is âExposed in the Light 2012â. The lighting and lasers synchronised to compliment the music to great effect. Congratulations to those responsible for making the gig so visually spectacular!
I see that Mike has still to post a copy of the set list so I wonât beat him to it!
Iâll just give you one or two of my personal highlights. Please bear in mind that for this year the set list will change with two lists running in rotation night by night.
For me---Set the Controls & Astronomy Domini were outstanding. I believe that the band had concentrated on the Pompeii versions of these two tracks. Very nice for me as an aging fan with original Floyd experience behind me as I know what their music should sound like. I have to say though that the 2007 Aussie version of S.T.C.F.T.H.O.T.S has spoilt me as I listen to it frequently.
On The Turning Away---well done Alexâgot it spot on. It sounded really good. How nice to hear a song written by an Englishman sung by an Englishman for a change!!!!!!!!
Colin too with his truly gripping rendition of Fletcher Memorial Home---there isnât anyone capable of doing it better.
My eye opener for the night?---G.G.I.T.S split into three parts and performed with panache and outstanding presence by Emily Lynn, Lara Smiles & Lorelei McBroom. A huge cheer from the crowd after that one.
I enjoyed the Warsaw experience so much that I am very much looking forward to seeing the band again in March at the NIA in Birmingham. Regrettably, I also have eyes on the two Saturday gigs in Dublin but Mrs Bigdog wonât let me get away with spending more money!

Re: Pink Floyd have an app

Hi Luke it's a small world ! So are you Jenny's son or little Michaels son ?
Sorry to bore forum readers with personal contacts but we've lost the private message capability on this new forum format.....
I was talking to Chris and Sam this afternoon and was very impressed to learn that Cluff had chosen the music for his funeral.......god bless the old boy.....Gimme Shelter and I Hear you Knocking...........

Re: Poland in January

This years set lists look interesting. Also it appears that the stage production values remain high with the inclusion of some new coloured lasers. The pictures I've seen look good.
We'll find out for sure on Saturday night.
A special message for thechiefbat DON'T FORGET YOUR TICKETS.

Re: Pink Floyd have an app

In theory that's a pretty clever idea for a crowd wave but just think for a second what 500 people playing WYWH out of sync would sound like.......it's a bit irritating to be reading every day "on this day the band continued in the studio working on DSOTM" expressionless
This was a reply to the post above by sph2701. Due to my ineptitude it seems to be drifting away from where it was supposed to be.
