Warsaw january 21st 2012
As this year’s tour T-shirt suggests, the ‘assorted lunatics’ travelled to Warsaw for our first Aussie Floyd hit of 2012.
The trip was well worth it and the band didn’t let us down. Good as they were last year, considering the fact that they were performing with a new line up having only short rehearsal time. This time a happy, more relaxed team of musicians stretched themselves a bit more expanding upon last year’s set list (Pink Floyds Greatest Hits World Tour 2011). The train of thought behind last year’s tour being “what would Floyd be playing now if they were still playing?” Hence the 3D experiment.
This year’s title is “Exposed in the Light 2012”. The lighting and lasers synchronised to compliment the music to great effect. Congratulations to those responsible for making the gig so visually spectacular!
I see that Mike has still to post a copy of the set list so I won’t beat him to it!
I’ll just give you one or two of my personal highlights. Please bear in mind that for this year the set list will change with two lists running in rotation night by night.
For me---Set the Controls & Astronomy Domini were outstanding. I believe that the band had concentrated on the Pompeii versions of these two tracks. Very nice for me as an aging fan with original Floyd experience behind me as I know what their music should sound like. I have to say though that the 2007 Aussie version of S.T.C.F.T.H.O.T.S has spoilt me as I listen to it frequently.
On The Turning Away---well done Alex—got it spot on. It sounded really good. How nice to hear a song written by an Englishman sung by an Englishman for a change!!!!!!!!
Colin too with his truly gripping rendition of Fletcher Memorial Home---there isn’t anyone capable of doing it better.
My eye opener for the night?---G.G.I.T.S split into three parts and performed with panache and outstanding presence by Emily Lynn, Lara Smiles & Lorelei McBroom. A huge cheer from the crowd after that one.
I enjoyed the Warsaw experience so much that I am very much looking forward to seeing the band again in March at the NIA in Birmingham. Regrettably, I also have eyes on the two Saturday gigs in Dublin but Mrs Bigdog won’t let me get away with spending more money!

Re: Warsaw january 21st 2012
I am looking forward to my first show for this year in the Plymouth Pavilions, I have never been there before so I do not know what to expect from that neck of the woods, but that will be all the more appealing as it is a new show for this year and a new venue for me.
Re: Warsaw january 21st 2012
Secondly, thanks to everyone who came over from England - the weekend was one of laughs and joy and a phenominal hangover on Saturday morning (see Steve's picture on Facebook for evidence).
Finally thanks to the band for putting on yet another fantastic show. As has already been mentioned, the attention to detail, the sound, lights, effects etc were all truely outstanding. Further thanks for your kind and generous time to talk with us all after the show. Its always good to catch up and this year, you all appeared more relaxed and open than previously.
To anyone who is in two minds about going to see this fantastic show, I would just say - GO. Accept no meagre imitations with grand claims. There really is only the one and original Pink Floyd Tribute that is Aussie Floyd
Re: Warsaw january 21st 2012
A shame about the massive hang overs at breakfast the following morning.
By the time the gig started in the evening all of that didn't matter.
Thank you to our friends for making the trip so worthwhile and thoroughly entertaining.
Re: Warsaw january 21st 2012
It's clear to me that there are no longer any limits to what this show is capable of doing. A World Wide Phenomenon is what I always called them! And with what I see with this Exposed in the Light tour that is what they are. The audiences are bigger, the shows production is bigger in every way, and the wow factor is over the top. I can't wait to see this show later this year when they come to Canada and the US. I bunch of my friends and I are planning a weekend road trip and night over to go and see them.
To bad that more folks don't post here like it used to be...but most of us who knew each other for many years are Facebook friends anyway.
Next time I come back to the UK we have to have another Aussie Floyd fan convention again!
All the best, and keep up the great work to all you folks involved in the show.
Bob in Victoria B.C. Canada.

After the interval the second set starts with Echoes rather than with Shine On parts 1-V.
You'll find out on the night though wont you

Saw them in Newcastle this week and totally agree with you. The only Floyd tribute band to see (and the only one I will)
Fantastic musicians and mesmerising stage effects.
Re: Warsaw january 21st 2012
I was, and still am, a life long, "authentic fan of Pink Floyd".
Because of the quality of the work they do (TAPFS)
I am now a true blue authentic fan of, "The Australian Pink Floyd Show.
They are most certainly equal in my estimation.
The debate will rage on for years whether it's possible for them to be "better" than Pink Floyd.
But there is no debate for me that they ARE AS GOOD as Pink Floyd.
Anyone would be a fool to miss one of their shows.
Bob

Having been aware of the oppressive regime that the Aussies were subjected to since 2006 it gives me great satisfaction to witness the refreshing changes that have occurred now that the supremely talented Kevin Brown is their manager.
