Australian Pink Floyd Kick Off U.S and Canadian Tour Tonight in Salt Lake City!

September 28, 2012 at 4:55 PM

Tonight the band will take to the stage for the first of 37 U.S and Canadian headline tour dates at the Usana Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City, UT.

The band touched down on U.S soil earlier this week and are busy gearing up for the opening night of the Exposed In The Light tour. With a full rehearsal under their belts, the stage has now been set, lasers and lights have been polished and skippy the kangaroo has been inflated (and deflated)!

Following the sold out dates last year, and taking its title from the lyrics of the Floyd classic “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”, the 2012 “Exposed In The Light” tour will be a true Pink Floyd ‘immersion’.  Colin Wilson explained, “For us, of course, the music has always come first.  For the new dates we’ll be putting the Pink Floyd catalogue under the spotlight, breathing life into some material that would otherwise not get heard and ensuring that our audiences are just blown away by the show.  We’re really excited about this next step.”

Straight after Salt Lake City’s gig the band will jump on the tour bus and make their way to Vegas…..

I attended the Usana show to kick things off and boy was I disappointed. I have seen this show many times over the years and never in my life have I wished I hadn't wasted $10 on the cheap seats. All I can say is pick it up! This was the slowest, most monotonous show ever. I am an avid Pink Floyd fan and I heard 3, maybe 4 songs in 3 hours that I even remotely recognized. As a cover band, I go to these expecting to hear hour after hour of the best music Pink Floyd ever produced. Not the blow the dust off found in the bottom left back corner crap that nobody knows and that being because it sucks! I saw what looked like 1/3 of the crows leave by the time I did (3rd song into 2nd set). People were curled up sleeping everywhere and those that were awake and drunk were hurling profanities and anything else they could throw. Sorry guys. If I had to grade this, its a big, solid F.
Oh yes, I'm sure I'll get tickets and be there next year but if you do this to me twice, I'll never be back and I'm sure that goes for almost everyone else who showed up at USANA expecting a show.

This clown must be brain dead. I attended the Wagner Noel show and had no problem recognizing every damn song and the band was excellent. The only downside was the idiots in the crowd that don't have the courtesy to shut up and listen to the music...why the hell do these people attend concerts? They could just as easily stay home and act like asshats. I'll go see these guys and gals every chance I get!

Poor SAP! Maybe the drugs he obviously needs to enjoy himself is what was not performing up to standards.

Mesa, AZ row J (12th row) dead center. No drugs. I recognized every song. Everyone around me seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Anyone that would say "found in the bottom left back corner crap that nobody knows" is not really a PF fan.

Spend more money on your seats or your drugs next time.

Strange.....I wonder what the contributor of the first comment had been taking on the night of the show ? It froze his brain and dumbed his senses.
Or perhaps he just has a vested interest in the success of some other PINK FLOYD tribute band and is being spiteful just for the sake of it.

From what I've seen of the band in its current format, all I can add is that the original poster must have been to see a band no one else recognises - perhaps the drugs do work! Either that or they have a vested interest in slandering the name and reputation of a band that has been in the business for nearly 30 years - I wonder why? Poor excuse for a human being. As other posters have suggested - get better seats, drugs or even a life!!
