Oh good I feel another adventure coming on.
A good place to enjoy a TAPFS gig. I know from experience that the people of Malta are BIG fans of Pink Floyd and they do really know their Floyd.....that makes being part of the audience there such a pleasure.
Mrs bigdog and I will fly out from Luton Airport at 6-40 am on Friday 13th ( no I'm not superstitious)then fly back again at 11-15 am on Sunday 15th and land at 1-35 in time for lunch.
I've already been contacted by a couple of forum friends who are keen to join us.
It was great fun there in 2005 if it's only half as good at this years venue (which I know nothing about)then it will be well worth the effort of making the trip.

Well that doesn't seem too painful......RYANAIR Malta-Luton return £124 each.
If you are considering coming along to this gig then there are many hotels to choose from at reasonable prices. we are staying in the St. Julian's area along with thechiefbats smiling
Gig tickets have now been purchased.
I decided to go for the VIP Chill-Out lounge......all I have to do now is find out just what the hell that means !!! Lol.

The Venue is a town square that was used last year for the MTV Malta awards. Its a great place. We are really looking forward to it.

Many congratulations to the promoter of this gig.
My tickets were ordered online at lunchtime on Tuesday 17th and arrived here at my address in the UK at 10-00am this morning Friday 20th.
If the show itself is as well organised then it'll be a good night out.smiling

I'll write it on here for you.
According to the tour guide on this site the Malta gig will have the Exposed In The Light set list......so that's something to look forward to smiling

Re: Malta gig 14th July 2012.

There are now only 18 days till this gig on the Island of Malta and this topic has not been added to for a considerable amount of time.
Apart from the six forum members I'm already aware of is there anybody else planning to attend who would like to make themselves known to us ?
Forum meet ups have, from past experience always been a good deal of fun (especially whilst abroad ) and are a good way of sharing information that isnt normaly posted on this website.

Re: Malta gig 14th July 2012.

Eh Up!!!!!!
I can get on the site again from my own computer (as opposed to only being able to access it from mrs mike's laptop), but better still I can post again, rather than only being able to read what others have had to say.

So, as bigdog correctly observes, not long to go for the Malta show. mrs mike and I are travelling on the 11th and spending a week in Malta, with the gig falling nicely half way through - really looking forward to it. So, is anyone else going? (Apart from the chiefbats and the bigdogs that is)

It appears I too am able to post again. Unfortunately we wont be in Malta until September, so are having to give this gig a miss this time around. What about Poland next year?

What about Poland next year ? Can we get through this year firstconfused
It's a bit too soon to be thinking about mid-May 2013 im all for forward planning but hang on for a while.
Would I cope with Katowice when the sun is shinning, all the flowers and trees are in full bloom and the air is warm ! Some of us have been conditioned to the winter climate for the past five or is it six years.......would we be able to endure the strain of it all ?

Re: Malta gig 14th July 2012.

I've only seen 2 dates announced for Poland 2013 so far. On a Wednesday and Thursday I believe? Midweek - not good for time off work etc!!

Anyone know of any other dates? I liked Warsaw and wouldn't mind going back.

Lets just start a Poland 2013 topic when we come back from Malta ?
Anyway to cause a bit of a complication !! I wouldn't mind attending the Hamburg gig next year.....and that's on a Saturday.

Re: Malta gig 14th July 2012.

Thanks skotch, Just fininshed breakfast and awaiting the arrival of the bigdogs and the chiefbats!! (about 11:30 local time I think)

It's bl**dy hot here - 41c yesterday, but forecast a little cooler for today. Could be 'sweaty crutch' time at the gig tomorrow night but I'm sure the mood of the moment will sweep us along.

Will post a review when able to.

Re: Malta gig 14th July 2012.

Hi there both

Hope you're having a good time over there - have you managed to do any sight-seeing in the scorching weather? More importantly, have you been able to sample the local brews to keep your fluids up? Seen the 2 vids the band have put together re all the press stuff etc. they look like they are busy at the moment. Have you bumped into them yet?

Have a great time tomorrow night (and I'm sure you'll have a good one tonight as well). Looking forward to reading your reviews

Re: Malta gig 14th July 2012.

Hi skotch & Kate,

Sorry, a little behind the game I'm afraid!!!

Yes to keeping the fluids up - Cisk of course (being the choice of discerning aussie floyd punters).

Yes to sightseeing - albeit on a restricted basis due to the oppresive heat. Valetta yesterday, did the Cathedral and the pub where Ollie Reed departed this world. Raised a glass to him of course. Did the North Island bus tour today - really interesting but desperately hot!! We want to do a day boat trip tomorrow, but are nervous of the heat. 35C is forecast and the trip is 7 hours. There is shade on the boat but, of course, once you're on, you're on!! We will review it early doors tomorrow and take it from there. Apart from that we have greatly enjoyed the company of the bigdogs and the chiefbats. Many laughs etc., although you and Kate were much missed.

No to bumping into band members prior to last night, although we did meet up with them after the gig. I shall try and post a review ASAP. Maybe bigdog can do the honours meanwhile?? I think Her Maj has a photo of the set list for the benefit of mr moon, any chance you could post it please Anne?. Suffice to say that the show was stonking. The ambience was great - I mean, how could you go wrong? A hot, balmy summers night watching the premier Pink Floyd Tribute Band in The World performing our favourite music, the company of dear and trusted friends, and not a Judas Iscariot in sight?

Best Wishes to all.

Re: Malta gig 14th July 2012..

Hi both

Thanks for that - I had a brif word with Mr Bigdog last night as he was about to prepare for the second leg of his Mediterranean travels! Told me one or two things I wasn't surprised to hear - how much longer are you in Malta for? I would recommend a trip to Mdina/Rabat if you have the time - its the silent city and there are plenty of places where you can get out of the heat including lots of catacombs in Rabat, as well as museumsetc in Mdina - there's no traffic allowed into the place either so you can wander around freely.

Looking forward to your review in due course. I believe BD posted a couple of piccies on Facebook - if you dont have access to that, I'll try and post a link here. Take care and put on lots of Factor 50!
