Stage collapse in Toronto claims life of Radiohead crew member
A stage collapse prior to Radiohead's scheduled show at Downsview Park in Toronto on Saturday (6/16) left the band's drum tech dead and injured three other workers, sending one to the hospital. The incident took place at about 4 pm local time, following the band's soundcheck but before any audience members had entered the concert site.
The Radiohead crew member, Scott Johnson, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to a report in the Toronto Star, Johnson had also worked with Keane and the Australian Pink Floyd tribute band.

Re: Aussie Floyd worker, dies in Toronto/Radiohead stage collapse.
I've held back from adding my own personal comment to this awful topic.
I was listening to the BBC radio 4 news at 6-00 o clock last Sunday morning and shuddered in disbelief that in this health and safety conscious age something so imaginably tragic could happen.
My thoughts are with Scott's immediate family and friends at this sad time. A life cut short with such a rewarding life in prospect must be hard to come to terms with. A loss most of us couldn't bear if it applied to us.
I've been reading Paul's thoughts and feelings on Facebook...a big man with a big heart......so sorry for the loss of your friend.
